Blogs – Are they Necessary?

Blogs can be an extremely important marketing opportunity for your business - creating engaging and informative content that positions your business as an expert and builds trust with your audience.

A blog is defined as ‘a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style.’

They are a great way to generate fresh content for your website and then repurposed across your other marketing channels including email marketing, social media and guest compendiums – with the ultimate objective to drive search traffic to your website.

Regularly blogging can also assist in boosting your SEO quality by positioning your website as a trusted resource to answer your guests’ questions. By incorporating keywords - words and phrases that people enter in search engines such as Google – within your blogs, it provides your website with more opportunities to rank in search engines and provides a more appealing website to visitors.

If you are yet to wander down the path of blogging, the first thing to do is consider where a blog will be placed on your website. If you have a Latest News page, they could go here, or you might choose to develop a dedicated page within your sitemap for blogs.

Travel blogs do not have to be long but they do need to be unique and tailored to your audience - providing them with the information that will assist them in their travel research and planning stages.

Blogs should be supported by great imagery and, you can consider providing a take-home element for your audience – perhaps a special offer to an experience that is featured.
